Peer testimonials help Guard Medical spread the word and enhance patient care

When it comes to trying new techniques or technologies, healthcare professionals seek the opinions of their peers. No one wants to hear from another sales rep pushing another medical device. Surgeons and other industry professionals want proof of concept and recommendations from peers to ensure a product is efficacious and positively impactful for their practice and patients.

Our goal at Guard Medical is to advance medical care and improve patient quality of life with smarter healing. We create devices that can help deliver better outcomes for surgical patients, and getting affirmation from peers within their specialties often influences practitioners’ decisions to trial and use our medical devices.

As the Director of Marketing and Sales Support for Guard Medical, my highest priority is to spread the word about our company. We’ve found video the best way to do that. 

Turning to the experts

Videos are an effective way to spread awareness, but creating these assets is a full-time job that includes:

We’ve filmed three videos so far and have more in the pipeline. Two of these videos were with surgeons, and one was with a patient who had a tremendously positive experience with our device and wanted to share her story. The Testimonial Hero team filmed all three projects remotely: the surgeons at their office for support, while they captured the patient interview from her home.

These remote videos appeal to our surgeons. They’re incredibly busy, so the idea of flying in a film crew to set up in their office is overwhelming. It is much easier to ask them to spend less than an hour filming on their phones. I also appreciate that I can record with any number of surgeons and patients across the country without any travel required for my team.

There can be many moving parts to video projects, but the Testimonial Hero team is a well-oiled machine that thinks about every single piece of the process, from the initial introduction to the team to preparing our surgeons for the interviews all the way up to the final package. The processes are laid out nicely for me and my customers, and the video quality is top-notch. Their team of experts edits the videos with the key points we want so the story flows well while including our branding and devices.
